Puppy Jumpstart is specially designed for puppies 8 to 16 weeks’ old so that they can receive the positive exposure, socialization & training experience of a lifetime! Puppy Jumpstart is:

Puppy Jumpstart
- Three 60-minute training sessions each week from Tuesday to Thursday (between 10am and 2pm)
- One 60-minute owner transfer session each week on the weekend day of your choosing
- One puppy field trip each week
- Minimum commitment of two weeks
- Can elect to do multiple two-week sessions back-to-back
Current research shows that the primary and most important time for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. During this time puppies should be exposed to as many new people, animals, stimuli, and environments as can be achieved safely and without causing over-stimulation, as per the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.
Incomplete or improper socialization during this important time can increase the risk of behavioral problems later in life including fear, avoidance, and/or aggression. Behavioral problems are the greatest threat to the owner–dog bond. In fact, behavioral problems are the number one cause of relinquishment to shelters.
For this reason, the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior believes that it should be the standard of care for puppies to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated.
Requirements
Your puppy should be between 8 & 14 weeks’ old upon joining Puppy Jumpstart – the earlier, the better!
Medical requirements to keep your puppy safe:
- First core set of puppy vaccines a minimum of 10 days prior to the first day of Puppy Jumpstart
- Bordetella vaccine (oral or intra-nasal) a minimum of 7 days prior to the first day of Puppy Jumpstart
- A negative fecal test (for parasites)

- Effective & safe socialization & positive exposure to a multitude of different sights, sounds, objects, surfaces, places, people & other animals
- Environmental stimulation
- Body handling in preparation for positive veterinary & grooming experiences
- Crate training
- Potty training
- Good manners
- Introduction to basic obedience behaviours – sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, touch, loose leash walking, recall
